Pick the project you are planning
Each project type has its own plumbing decisions. Here is what we cover for each.
Kitchen
Sink, faucet, dishwasher supply, disposal hookup and a water line for a refrigerator or filter.
Bathroom
Toilet, vanity, shower or tub valves, and shutoffs that make the next repair simple.
Laundry
Washer supply valves, a drain box sized for the machine and a drain path that does not back up.
Outdoor
Hose bibs, outdoor sinks, a water line to an outbuilding or a gas stub for a grill or fire feature.

Which room are you building out?
Tell us the room and the fixtures. We will say what the plumbing needs. Call {phone} to set a visit.
Remodels and new construction
A remodel opens walls, and that is the cheapest time to fix the plumbing behind them. We look at existing supply and drain lines before the finish crew arrives, and tell you what we would replace while the wall is open.
On new construction or an addition, plumbing goes in before the walls close. We coordinate rough-in with your builder and set stub-outs where fixtures will land. For older homes with tired pipes, Repiping may belong in the same plan.
What each project asks of the plumbing
Use this table to see what to settle before we start.
| Project | Key decisions | What we confirm on site |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen remodel | Fixture locations, appliance hookups | Drain height, supply valves, disposal circuit |
| Bathroom remodel | Moving a toilet or shower | Drain path and access to the plumbing wall |
| Laundry room | Washer location | Drain box, shutoffs and a drain pan if needed |
| Outdoor kitchen or sink | Distance from the house | Water line route, drain and sun exposure |
| Addition or ADU | Connection to existing lines | Tie-in points and fixture count |
Gas smell? Leave first, then call
Smell gas or suspect a leak? Get everyone out, then phone SoCalGas on 1-800-427-2200 once you are clear of the building. Dial 911 as well if lives or property may be at risk, or if SoCalGas cannot be reached.
Once everyone is safe and the utility has cleared the area, we handle the non-emergency repair or install.
Gas line work, from a stub to a repair
We install and inspect gas lines for appliances, outdoor features and new equipment. Every job begins with a look at the existing line, the fittings and the shutoff, and we put what we find on the quote.
The City of Pico Rivera offers an Express Permit for a residential gas line repair. For a new gas line or a larger change, ask Building and Safety at (562) 942-2000, because permit rules vary.
What moves the price of an install
You see the price before we begin. These items change it.
Before we install anything
Gather these and the visit goes faster.
- Fixtures bought or chosen, with spec sheets if available.
- Appliance model numbers for the dishwasher, washer or ice maker.
- A sketch or photo of where each fixture will sit.
- The location of your main water shutoff.
- Your remodel schedule, so we know when walls open and close.
A new shutoff valve on every fixture is a small cost now and a big convenience later. Ask about it, or see Water Line Repair if the line feeding the project needs attention.
How a typical install job runs
Details vary by project, but the order stays similar.
- 1
Walk the site
We see the space, the existing lines and the fixture plan.
- 2
Write the scope
The quote lists fixtures, valves, lines and any permit step.
- 3
Rough-in
Supply and drain lines are set before walls or cabinets close.
- 4
Set fixtures
Fixtures go in once surfaces are finished.
- 5
Test and walk through
We check for leaks, run every fixture and show you the shutoffs.
Pair it with nearby services
Adding a heater to the plan? See Water Heater Installation. Old drains in the remodel zone may call for Drain Cleaning first. We serve Pico Rivera and nearby Santa Fe Springs for installs and gas work.

Standards and sources behind this page
Gas safety guidance comes from SoCalGas, and the City of Pico Rivera lists Express Permits for gas line repair and water heater change-outs. New fixture and gas work in California is covered by the California Plumbing Code, which is why we ask about permits at the start of a project.
